In 1998, qualified electrician Jerard Retford was eager to expand his talents further in the field of security and Datacom was created. One of our first major clients being Gosford RSL Club Limited, who is still a client today.

Datacom quickly became well-known and respected with builders, business and property owners across the Central Coast. Jerard joined forces with Brian Mitchell, another qualified electrician, and together they moved the business to larger premises at West Gosford. Datacom reached a new level of commercial success boasting over 1000 monitored security systems.

The success of Datacom is based on local management and the skilled, dedicated, team of technicians directly engaged, not subcontracted, by the company who all hold appropriate licences and are covered by the company's insurance policies.

Datacom not only specialises in difficult security challenges with alarms, access control and CCTV cameras, they are also specialists with data fit-outs, telephone systems, automatic gates, intercoms electronic access and MATV.

Datacom met a growing need in the market for the development of communication and security management systems in Central Coast businesses.

Following the company policy of protection of property DATACOM branched into the FIRE protection industry creating DATACOM FIRE targeting properties in particular Retirement villages where on the Coast we can boast of 200 establishments all legally bound to have Fire protection by the year 2016.
